Claude just joined the team chat 👋
... so Claude is literally trying to take my job now? 😭

Sorta. Anthropic launched Claude Tag, which drops the model into a Slack channel as a teammate. Give it your tools and code, then anyone can tag @Claude to hand off work while they do other things.

sounds like it's just Claude Code with a Slack skin?

Not quite. There's one shared Claude per channel that learns as it goes, works in the background, and flags things proactively, and Anthropic says it already writes 65% of its product team's code.

🤔 so what's the catch?

Lock-in. The more Tag learns your channels and tools, the more your day-to-day work lives inside one vendor's memory, on metered, token-based pricing. Critics call it a Trojan horse: handy now, but you may end up renting your own processes back from the AI that runs them.

OpenAI built its own chip and called it Jalapeño 🌶️
openai makes hardware now?? 🦺

Yep. With Broadcom, it unveiled Jalapeño, its first in-house chip, built to run LLMs rather than train them. Broadcom's CEO handed the first one straight to Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.

is it fast or just a vibes drop? 💨

Early numbers claim performance per watt above today's best chips, and OpenAI says it went from design to tape-out in nine months, the fastest ever. Gigawatt-scale deployments land by the end of 2026, with Microsoft on board.

why bother when Nvidia exists?

Control. OpenAI now owns the whole stack, models, products, and the silicon underneath, so every ChatGPT answer gets cheaper to serve.

🧭 weekly challenge: let AI map your next career move
what's the challenge?

Use Google's free Career Dreamer to turn your messy work history into a clear career story and a shortlist of jobs you'd be good at.

🧩 Step 1: Open Career Dreamer. It is free, no sign-up, and US-only for now. Type in your last few roles, including school, side gigs, and volunteer work.
✍️ Step 2: Get your Career Identity Statement. Let it turn your background into a short paragraph, then tweak any line that does not sound like you.
🔍 Step 3: Explore the matches. Browse the careers it suggests, each tied to real job-market data, and shortlist three to five that make you curious.
🎯 Step 4: Turn it into something real. Paste your statement into Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude and ask it to draft a resume line for your next application.

Would you put an AI on the payroll, or stay the only human in the room? And does building its own chip make OpenAI unstoppable, or just more alone? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
